The Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health utilizes a model of community health empowerment and engagement to promote health equity and social justice through strategic partnerships, innovative community-based health promotion & research programs, and the preparation of a more diverse and inclusive workforce of health professionals.

The Health Disparities team, Brooklyn Health Disparities Center mission: Our mission is to develop and implement models to reduce health disparities in minority and new immigrant populations in Brooklyn through basic, clinical, behavioral and community participatory research, community education and outreach, and health professional training.

Bereavement Support Group


Join us at the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America for a new

in-person support group for those who have experienced

the death of someone with Alzheimer’s or related

dementias. Come together to support each other.

This free support group will provide a space to:

• Share feelings

• Learn coping strategies for loss

• Incorporate methods for self-care

• Gain an understanding of the grieving process

• Reminisce and honor our loved ones
